About Cascadia Journal

I'm Andrew Engelson, a journalist based in Seattle. I've been freelancing for more than two decades and cover wide range of topics including Cascadia politics, climate change and the environment, urbanism and transportation, law and the criminal justice system, LGBTQ and polyamory-related issues, and the arts. I'm a big fan of the region I live in – Cascadia – because of its natural beauty, its cultural diversity, and a wealth of artistic creativity here.
Cascadia Journal features opinionated posts on news, politics, the environment, and arts & culture across the Cascadia bioregion. My weekly essays are free, and the daily morning briefing is available for a subscription of $5 per month. I hope you'll join me!
